Rebecca- How did she get selected? : After reaching the 20th floor Rebecca approached the Secretary’s cabin.
A lady employee was talking on the intercom. As soon as the woman looked at her she immediately hung the call.
“Yes?” The lady employee asked.
“Hello Ma’am, I’m here for the interview.” Saying this she showed the interview letter. ………………Rebecca
“Rebecca Martin, please wait for a little.” The lady employee gestured towards the chair across from her.
“Thank you.” Rebecca sat down.
The lady employee picked up the intercom and pressed a few keys, “Sir, the candidate for the secretary post’s interview has arrived.”
“Ok,” Saying this she put down the intercom.
“Miss Martin, please follow me.” Saying this she led the way.
After walking for 100 steps they stopped at the door of a room.
“Miss Martin, you can knock and go in.” Saying this she returned in the direction of her cabin.
Rebecca softly knocked at the door. ………………Rebecca
“Come in.” someone spoke from the inside.
She carefully opened the door and entered. ………..Rebecca- How did she get selected?
It was a very large room larger than her entire flat. All the furniture in the room was of high quality and comfortable. There was a large desk, a comfortable Boss chair, bookshelves, and display cases. In one corner was a U-shaped sofa lying with a center table. The room was painted in a soft grey color.
Behind the boss’s chair on the wall, there was hanging the logo of the company.
Seeing only one person in the room Rebecca hesitates and said, “I’m sorry sir, I think I have entered the wrong room. I’m here for an interview but it doesn’t seem that any interview is being conducted here. Saying this she was about to turn when suddenly she heard.
“You have entered the right room, Miss Martin, Please come in.

she carefully reached for the desk.
“Miss Martin, please have a seat.” The boss who seems to be in his sixties offered a seat.
“Thank You, Sir.” Saying this she sat down, placing the folder in her hand, on the table.
“Miss Rebecca Martin, tell me something about you.” The boss asked politely. …….Rebecca- How did she get selected?
“Sir, I am Rebecca Martin, I am a determined and ambitious person. Although I faced lots of challenges until now. I have overcome significant obstacles in my life. Growing up in an orphanage from the age of 5 to 18, I had to face many challenges that most children never experienced. However, I never let my circumstances define me, and instead, I worked hard to achieve my dreams.” ………..Rebecca- How did she get selected?
After pausing for a moment, She continued,
“I have done my major in business administration. After graduating from Z University, I am now looking for a secretary job where I can utilize my exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail. My dedication and work ethic have been honed through my years of perseverance, and I am ready to apply them to any task at hand. With a strong desire to succeed and a passion for learning, I am sure to be a valuable addition to any team.”
“Miss Martin, as you said you have been in an orphanage from five years of age, how did you know about your surname?” Another question came from the boss.
“Sir, the warden of our orphanage is Miss Freda Martin, she gives her surname to every child who comes to the orphanage.” She replied politely. ………………Rebecca- How did she get selected?
“All right, Miss Martin you can join from tomorrow, please report to H R department tomorrow at 8 am for your offer letter. You may leave now.” Saying this the boss picked up the intercom and pressed a few buttons.
“Miss Lewinsky, please come to my office.”
Rebecca quietly stood up and turned to leave when she was gestured to wait by the boss. She obediently sat down.
In a few seconds, the same lady employee entered the office.
“Sir, what’s the order for me?” She asked, politely.
“Miss Lewinsky, direct H R department to prepare an offer letter for Miss Martin, she will assist William as his assistant.”
The boss directed her
“Miss Martin please follow Miss Lewinsky to collect your offer letter and report tomorrow with the acceptance letter.” He said in a soft voice.
“Thank you, sir.” Rebecca was so excited that she completely forgot that she had come for the interview for a secretary and not for the Vice president’s assistant.
“Miss Martin, please follow me.” After nodding to the boss, Miss Lewinsky said to Alaina.
Rebecca got up and nodded to the boss then followed Miss Lewinsky.
As soon as she got out of the boss’s room, she was interrupted by Miss Lewinsky,
“If I’m not mistaken weren’t you come for the secretary position, how come you are hired for the assistant of Vice president.” ………………Rebecca- How did she get selected?
Her sudden quarry made Rebecca snap back to reality and she also realized that this was strange.
“I don’t know either.” She could only say this at the moment.
Miss Lewinsky didn’t make any trouble for her and brought her directly to the HR department.
“Mr. Fredrick, this is Rebecca Martin and Miss Martin this is Mr. Robert Fredrick, HOD of the HR department.” Miss Lewinsky introduces Rebecca to the HR head.
“Miss Martin, please wait for a few minutes, your offer letter is being prepared.” Mr Fredrick offered her a seat while leaving his cabin. ………………Rebecca- How did she get selected?
As soon as he left the room,
Miss Lewinsky also excused herself and followed him.
“Who is she? How did she get Mr Symon’s approval to be appointed to such an important post?” Robert Fredrick was curious to know as until now more than twenty candidates with ample experience have been rejected by the CEO for the same post and this newbie without any special qualification or experience suddenly got selected for the post. There must be some special recommendations.
“I don’t know either, sigh. This girl is not even a beauty so there can’t be any possibility that the old monk has finalized her to keep his grandson intact in the office.” She whispered. She was already puzzled as to why the receptionist earlier informed her that an exceptionally beautiful girl had come for the interview. She didn’t find anything called exceptionally beautiful in this girl. ………………Rebecca- How did she get selected?
